I'm using a MacBook Pro with an Intel i5 2. It should handle these changes without any problem. The thing I don't like about Adobe Elements is that you have to import each time you add more photos to your hard drive and you can't have the same picture with the same name in 2 different folders.

ACD Pro Mac has been in various stages of development for over 4 years and still has serious problems. ACD is obviously not a Mac house, the bulk of their revenue is from the Win side and has a good following and support base there. The Mac development manager was fired or left about 18 months ago so the app has had a rocky history and until ACD decides to bring some real Mac developers on the scene it will continue it's ragged existence.
Agree with you on Adobe Elements and I had the same issues but once I committed myself to using it, they disappeared with continued use and I found myself in a much richer environment where I could pay attention to my photos without the constant distraction of a clunky app. I want to work with a folder structure with subfolders which only ACD and Adobe provide so that was a plus for Elements.
The redeye correction is also the best on the market, clunky in ACD. The Elements folder structure once you begin to work with it is far better than ACD. And having to import and work in a catalog is actually better for my workflow.
It's just a mindset. ACD is missing the image retouch and correction feature which Adobe excels in. So I have nothing against ACD it's just the reality of a real world. I spent years supporting them with beta testing and constant feedback but the changes needed to bring a reliable app to the market seems to elude them and after a while there is no other choice because your work comes first, you're not here to babysit an unworkable app. I still think the product has potential but I would set a target of about 5 years from now to look at it again if it still existed.

That problem has been around forever. I tested 3. So that somehow works better but making multiple heavy corrections to images still seems to bring the app down. There is a database memory or some coding problem here that ACD can't seem to address.

Maybe your work ethics are subpar but mine is spotless. I give what I am asked for. You have a reputation of being terrible at keeping at the pace of the demand for business. Sorry, but you made yourself look bad to your client - nobody in their right mind or claiming to be professional does a system or application upgrade in the middle of a contract.
OSX or Windows upgrades break things Instead of saying others should be ashamed, take some responsibility for what happens on your own computer and your own business. You didn't have to upgrade to Mavericks. Go bitch at Apple for betraying your trust by breaking working applications with their OS upgrade I have both acdsee and aperture and I had to use the later one since the mavericks upgrade.
I really miss the folder browsing that acdsee has instead of importing photos to a library. I think next time maybe the acdsee team could start the upgrading work since the preview or beta version of OS X. So the users won't have to wait this long.
